Snow Overview - Canada  (snow news updated 02-May-2012)

Skiing in Canada is limited to three resorts now, being Banff (220/224cm), Jasper (145cm) and Whistler (288cm). There’s plenty of skiing available at Banff with the Sunshine Village and Lake Louise areas both still 100% open. Mt Norquay is closed for the season. Whistler still has an excellent snow depth all over the mountain. Skiing is limited to Blackcomb Mountain but there is still plenty of it available, with all the upper slopes in great spring condition.

North American Weather Outlook

Whistler in Canada is expecting quite heavy snow on Monday 30th April and Tuesday 1st May. This could also fall right down to 1000m which is unusual for the time of year but excellent news for the upper mountain. Snow is also expected at Banff on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures of around -1C to -5C depending on altitude. Mild and sunny weather is expected to be dominant in areas of Utah and Colorado, where some ski resorts remain open. While not excellent news for powder hounds it’s weather to be expected for the time of year and will make for some very pleasant skiing in warm sunshine.
